Kids sport camps on Koh Samui

AirGym Family runs sport camps for children on Koh Samui through the school holidays across the year. This page holds everything that stays the same from camp to camp. Dates, the daily schedule, the menu, policies and booking live on the page of the camp that is running now.

Sport through play — not a kids club

Children’s clubs exist and they do their job. This is a different thing: a sport camp. Everything is built around movement — aerial arts, acrobatics, dance — and it is taught as play rather than as drill, because that is how children this age actually learn. Around the sport we add creative and intellectual activities and plain fun, so a camp day has a rhythm instead of being one long training session.

Who it is for

From 5 years old. Groups are formed for each camp according to who enrols, so the age bands shift a little from camp to camp — the current camp page states them. No previous experience is needed; children who already train with us simply continue at their level.

Camps are run in English and Thai.

Where it happens: our own venue

Camps used to move between rented venues. They no longer do — AirGym Family has its own site on Koh Samui, and the camps run there.

  • Three indoor floors: an aerial hall (6×12 m, 4.72 m ceiling) with slings, silks, hoops, straps, ropes, rings, poles and handstand equipment; a dance and pole studio with wooden floors, mirrors and a sound system; a flexibility and ballet floor with barres, mats and bars.
  • Sky Garden — our open-air training and event space behind the building: 808 m² of land, 8 m high, a 6×6 m aluminium rig, a roof for weather, outdoor air conditioners and fans, and 50 cm crash mats.
  • Four air-conditioned training zones plus the open-air zone, waiting rooms for parents, showers and toilets, and a café with food and drinks.

What children do

The mix changes with the season and the group, but the shape is constant: aerial arts and acrobatics, dance, general physical preparation, and alongside them creative and intellectual activities. Children try several directions rather than one, which is usually how a child finds the thing they want to keep doing.

Who runs it

Camps are run by AirGym Family’s own coaching team — the people who teach here year-round — rather than staff brought in for the season.

Why a sport camp

Holidays are long, and screens are patient. A camp gives structure, movement and a group of peers. We wrote about what that gives a child in Advantages of Summer Camps.
