Aerial Art Classes

Aerial Yoga

It is a type of yoga that uses an aerial hammock to allow students to perform postures that are difficult on the ground. A hammock supports your body weight.

Aerial hammock (sling) – is a piece of elastic, strong fabric suspended from the ceiling. It holds your body and allows you to work against gravity. Suspension training enables you to stretch more in-depth than traditional forms of yoga while providing a full-body workout.

You can also do many supported inversions, which is one of the unique benefits of aerial yoga. Being upside down, supported by the fabric, is a little bit like being in traction – it helps lengthen ligaments, relax muscles and the spine.

It combines traditional yoga with moves inspired by pilates, dance, and acrobatics exercises.

The calisthenics part of it is that students perform exercises and pulling themself up in the air using their body weight. Getting more robust and improving their coordination and body balance.

Recommended to attend aerial yoga as a beginner level of aerial sling or silks.
